7 Ways To Get Strong Bones

Having strong bones is important
because as you get older, your body starts to deteriorate (including
your bones). If your bones become fragile, the smallest accident
could lead to a fracture that doesn’t heal well. Here are seven
ways that you can help your body keep your bones strong and healthy.

1. Calcium

It’s true, the more milk, yogurt,
cottage cheese, and calcium supplements you take the healthier your
bones will be. Calcium is the fountain of youth for your bones.

2. Exercise

Activities that use weight to exercise
(things like walking, running, lifting weights, etc.) help exercise
your bones as well as the rest of your body. So try to keep your
bones toned by doing some weight bearing exercises.

3. Cut Back On Coffee

Too much caffeine can backfire on you
when it comes to calcium. If your body takes on too much caffeine it
can negatively affect calcium absorption. So cut your coffee intake
to about two cups a day or less.

4. Veggies

Vegetables are a great source of
potassium, magnesium, and vitamin K, which play an important role in
keeping your bones strong.

5. Kale

One of the best vitamins that we get
out of kale is vitamin k, which helps your body make protein for
bones and helps absorb calcium.

6. Get Some Sun

Vitamin D (which your body produces
when exposed to the sun) helps your body absorb calcium. So a nice
milkshake in the park on a sunny day, might just be the key to strong
bones.

7. Bubbles

Cola is bad for you for many different
reasons. However, it’s bubbly cousin seltzer water normally
contains some extra calcium and magnesium. So if you’re craving
a soda, why not try a flavored seltzer instead.
