How fast should I eat my food?
--Try to eat one thing at a time and allow at least 15 minutes between different types of foods. The one food at a time is nature’s way. Again notice, only man combines more than one type of food at a meal. All animals in nature eat ONE THING at a time. The single food allows for greater and faster detoxifying than eating combination of foods.
How much water do I drink each day?
--According to health experts the normal amount of water that is recommended is ½ of your body weight (in pounds) in ounces per day. For example, if you weigh 100 pounds, drink at least 50 ounces of water per day. If you weigh 150 pounds, drink at least 75 ounces, etc. That will seem like a lot to some people, but you can do it. You can drink it for optimal health, but if you can’t get all your required water in based on your weight, then drink minimum 8-(8 ounces) glasses a day or 4-(16 ounces) water bottles.
Can I use seasoning on my food?
--Yes, you can use any type of fresh herbs, garlic, vinegar, ground pepper, olive oil, coconut oil, lemon juice, onions, basil, etc.
Do I need to take a detox during the Slimdown for Health 12 week Challenge?
--It is recommended that you take a detox towards the last two weeks on the challenge. You can choose which detox you prefer, but I would recommend The Cleaner® during the cleansing process. The Cleaner® makes the detox process more effective and easier. It is similar to detergent in a cleansing process. The Cleaner® is one of the few detoxes that you can take and still work a normal routine because of the gentle yet thorough action. The Cleaner® is simple to take. No mixing powders, no multiple bottles of pills, no complicated instructions, veggie capsules for an animal free detox. The Cleaner® also covers all major body systems including parasites. Overall The Cleaner® makes any cleansing program more effective and easier. When The Cleaner® is used it helps to remove much more of the waste and toxins that would normally be removed. I only recommend the detox for ADULTS, not children. The Cleaner® is only sold and shipped in the U.S. so those in other countries will not be able to get The Cleaner®. A detox is not necessary or required; it only helps the cleansing process and recommended. You can purchase The Cleaner® at www.thecleaner.com or go to your local Health food store and they should carry it. You can take The Cleaner® for seven days or if you are very toxic and clogged get the 14-day version. However, the majority of the cleansing process is accomplished by the water, diet and workout regimen.
SOME STEAMED VEGETABLES YOU CAN EAT
--This is the staple of the first 4 weeks of The Slimdown for Health Challenge.
Frozen vegetables are easiest to use and last longer in the freezer. However, fresh is normally better, but they don’t last as long in the fringe. Depending on the steamer, the cooking time for vegetables will vary from 15 to 40 minutes.
If you are steaming rice, it will take about 45 minutes, but each steamer is different so you will need to gauge yours. You can only eat brown rice not white rice. . You can even steam your veggie patty which you get from the grocery store. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to steam the patty.
An example of some veggies you can steam and eat:
1. Lima beans
2. Pinto beans
3. Green beans or any type of beans you like
4. Corn on the cob
5. Frozen corn
6. Shredded carrots
7. Regular carrots
8. Frozen mixed vegetables
9. Brussels sprouts
10. Green peas
11. Field peas
12. Broccoli
13. Asparagus
14. Spinach
15. Kale
16. Sweet potatoes
17. Regular potatoes
18. Blue potatoes
19. Cabbage
20. Zucchini
21. Cauliflower
22. Whatever other vegetables you like.
FRUIT SMOOTHIE
--This is absolutely GREAT for breakfast. Fruits are in calories with natural sugars. Again, frozen fruit is easiest and often less expensive. I prefer fresh fruits, but the drawback is that it will go bad on you fast. Many grocery stores have fruit prepackaged mixed fruit smoothie blends. Make sure it is pure fruit with no sugar or other unhealthy ingredients added.
You can use Strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pears, peaches, mangoes, apples, pineapples, bananas, melons, or whatever fruit combo you like. etc. Experiment with different fruit combinations. You can use water or apple juice in the blender to help make the fruit blend easier and not stick to the bottom of the blender.
Using frozen strawberries eliminates the need to use ice.
Can I drink tea on the Slimdown for Health Challenge?
--Yes, you can. As long as the tea doesn't have caffeine in it. You can drink Green tea, Chamomile tea, Tangerine Orange Herbal Tea, or any kind of TEA you like. Just remember it has to be Caffeine Free.
Can I eat meat during the Slimdown for Health Challenge?
--Yes, use portion control, like the size of your fist. You can eat the different meats you like, except you can not eat pork or beef. You can have tofu, veggie patty, veggie burgers, soy meat, fish, chicken breast, or turkey breast throughout the 12 week challenge. Soy meat contains no fat like real meats. Soy is a good source of protein.
Soy meat can be used to make tacos, burgers, burritos, etc.
